Understanding How Work Metering Digital SLR Camera (DSLR)

Every modern digital SLR cameras equipped with the manufacturer’s name Metering Mode, Exposure Metering, Camera Metering or for more practical we call Metering already assembled therein. In this article we will try to understand what it is metering? how it works as well as some major flaws that we must face (underexposed and overexposed). In the next article, further our understanding of the metering mode (matrix / evaluative, center weighted and spot metering).
What is Metering? What Purpose?
In principle, no different from the meter rolls used construction worker or meter tailor tape used to measure length, metering is only used by a DSLR camera to measure light, which is relatively more meticulous than the measured length.
Metering is used to measure the light that is seen by the camera (the light coming into the lens). When we see an object image through the camera viewfinder, light conditions in the object to be measured by the metering system. The main purpose of the camera metering system is to produce images that fit exposure. Metering done by analyzing the darkness bright picture of an object and then determine the amount of shutter speed, aperture and ISO so that the images you are right, not too dark or not too bright.
Her dizziness Hmm …. okay, imagine your eyes. When you feel the glare of what you do?¬† eyes instead! Unconsciously you reduce the amount of light entering the eye so that you are not blinded (not too bright). Conversely, when you feel the light is too dim automatically open your eyes wide.¬† eyes wide open so that eyes feel uncomfortable when I saw (the right exposure), as that is the task of the camera metering system. Matrix or evaluative metering

Nikon called matrix mode, while the Canon called evaluative mode. The way it works is to divide all the camera images of objects that exist in the viewfinder into several zones or regions, and each zone was measured dark brightness. The camera also stressed zone where you put the focal point as the critical zone, so that the value of the dark light here is considered as a priority. Once all the information was gathered, the camera will try to determine the exposure value that fits.
In addition, the DSLR camera also compare the brightness above information with shooting data sample in a variety of circumstances that have been put into memory by the manufacturer for determine camera exposure value according to which is most appropriate. Fashion matrix / evaluative commonly used in most normal shooting situations, the most accurate in everyday conditions and the most frequently used. So, before you find the shooting situation is complex and difficult, use this mode.
Center Weighted Metering
Using the whole frame area to determine the exposure value does not always produce the desired image. What about if you want to capture a face with the sun behind it? If you use matrix mode, the face will likely look very dark. Continue reading “Matrix or evaluative metering”

Deliberately raise the exposure of the camera to capture a face make the face look more white, clean and modern impressed. If you observe facial photographs in magazines tend to use this technique. The technique is also often overexpose¬† called high key. Continue reading “20 Tips Photos Portrait”

Understanding Modes In Digital Camera

Having a good understanding of some of the operating mode of the digital camera so helps us to effectively control the exposure. This article will attempt to explain some common modes of operation are you good DSLR camera, pocket camera is a sophisticated and super-zoom; aperture priority, shutter speed priority, program mode and manual mode.

What is Operation Mode Camera?
Mode on digital cameras allows us to control the exposure parameters, in particular shutter speed, aperture and ISO which is the basic parameters of photography. Several modes automatically determine these quantities, yet another mode to manually control it allows us to taste kita.Dahulu mode when there is no camera, the photographer must decide for themselves all the parameters of shutter speed, aperture, and select the type of film to be used. To calculate the intensity and amount of light, they must use a metering device (see the workings of the camera metering) and a separate measure light choose exposure information, which is then used for the camera settings.
Since the introduction of SLR cameras capable of measuring light coming through the lens, metering equipment becoming obsolete. Since then, the automatic mode is also introduced by the camera manufacturer, where the camera will measure the light coming through the lens and also calculate the right exposure. Mode that currently exist (almost all digital cameras grade semi pro to pro) attempted to bridge between semi-automatic and full operation manual-style photographers of the past. What is Moire Pattern?

In the context of photography, moire pattern occurs when an object in the photo has a detailed repeating pattern (lines, dots) that is beyond the resolution of a digital camera sensor. The result is a pattern emerging in the final picture looks odd extra eyes and unreal. Let more easily, see photo below:

See the strange pattern seen in clothes in the photo? yeah, like that’s the moire pattern. In real life, moire is almost never visible because our eyes are really top quality fast. But for the camera and lens are full of shortcomings, moire often arise. Be it hair, clothes, escalator and almost all objects with repetitive pattern detail and meeting complex has the potential emergence of moire in the photo.
In digital cameras, moire occurs because of the way light reaches the sensor and how to interpret the light sensor. There are some effective ways to reduce moire when shooting. The next post will discuss how to take to reduce moire. But if you already have a moire in the image, we can use Lightroom to reduce moire, although it can not be completely lost.
Congratulations acquainted with moire deh.

Avoid the emergence of Moire Pattern in Photos

After my previous post about the understanding of Moire pattern discussed in the context of photography, in this article we will discuss how to avoid the appearance of moire patterns in an image. If you’ve already got moire, it’s rather difficult to eliminate even if we use sophisticated software, so we avoid as much they appear in the photo. Please follow the steps below to avoid:

1. Direct Check Photos When Photographing Objects With Patterns That Meeting
Make sure the photos when shooting an object that has a repeating pattern dense and complex, you immediately check out the photos at once. Zoom the image in the camera’s LCD to 100% and scroll photos to examine whether or not the moire appear. If you see moire in the photos, select some of the steps below before you take another object. Changing Extension Tube Lens Macro Lens Being Ordinary

If at any time you want to shoot macro but do not want to buy a special macro lens, there are several inexpensive alternative scenarios that can be used:
Install the extension tube between the lens and the camera body
Install the filter in front of the lens close-up
Reversing the lens (reverse ring)

Photo above was taken with a 50mm f/1.4 lens plus 36mm Kenko extension tube
Gradually we will discuss each of the options, but for this article we focus on the use of extension tubes. Okay on with it:
Extension tubes are mounted between the camera body and lens, thus effectively increasing the distance between the front element of the lens and the sensor field, which in turn will increase the magnification of the lens and change the minimum focusing distance.

Extension tube is a cylindrical metal ring and has no optical elements, so the image quality is not affected by the optical, but we also do not expect the quality can match the quality of the special macro lens. We can pile up some extension tubes as well as to be able get more magnification levels. Continue reading “Changing Extension Tube Lens Macro Lens Being Ordinary”

Composition Tips Color In Photos

Unless our pictures are all black and white, color is one of the important components in an image. Due played a crucial role, we should also understand some of the effect of color on the composition of the overall picture.

Visually, each color has a meaning and a message that stimulates people to see. Even the color of the red-white flag has its own meaning and message, is not it?
In this article we will understand the eating of primary colors and secondary (because I also do not really know about color theory, I extracted from some color theory books) and how to apply them in the composition of your photos.

Primary Colors: Red-Blue-Yellow
There are three primary colors: red, blue and yellow. Called primary colors because all three elements of this color is not obtained from the mixing of other colors. Mixing two primary colors produces a secondary color.
Red is known to have the meaning of passion and strength, the color of love. Red color stimulates and its exciting but also firm. The red light is a marker when we brake the vehicle, a red light means stop.
Of all the colors, the blue color that gives the greatest contrast to red because blue gives absorbing properties. Is a vast expanse of blue sea, blue sky is limitless and blue is usually calm, quiet.
Yellow is light. The yellow color is cheerful, creative and warm. Continue reading “Composition Tips Color In Photos”

Photo Tips: Backlit Portrait With Solar Light

Backlit portraits have appeal visually different because sunlight falling the hair gives a different dimension. This time we will try to make a photo portrait lighting backlit with sunlight. See photo below:

How do I make it, follow these steps:
First position the subject of the photo so that the sun is behind them with no direct sunlight falls to the face. Then change the metering mode the camera with spot metering. Navigate the focal point to the face model. By doing this, we basically ordered the camera, “he camera, the face is the most important part, make sure the exposure was good!”
When we take pictures, a face that had turned dark because the sun will be brighter, while the background becomes far brighter. In this case, a very bright background is not an issue because there is no sun there.
If we shoot with aperture priority and we think the overall picture is too bright, use exposure compensation (exposure compensation). Exposure compensation forcing the camera to increase or decrease the value of the exposure value according to the most appropriate camera metering system.
